My 98 Specialized Stumpjumper. The frame is in excellent order and the only changes I have made are the saddle, handlebar (was a black Ritchey Forcelight now a silver Syncros Hardcore), shifters (were silver LX now black XT) and barends. It feels quite a bit heavier than my Explosif but rides well, very assured! Hope you like.

yupss

looks clean, I might be able to get hold of an alu stumpjumper with some sort of indy fork, canti's and lx. not sure what to do, the frame is black what year could it be? seems a bit small to...

That steel one is fab, excellent condition.
The ally Stumpy was only produced for one year 95 or 96 i think. It was black with yellow and had quadras i think.. :?

That Stumpy is exactly the same as mine but in better condition. Exactly the same colour. Mine has the original Richey bars.
I didn't have the cleated pedals.
Surprisingly according to BikePedia 1998 and 1997 Stumpjumpers were hard tail and the last rigid was 1996 but the colours then were blue and green, I think, not mango.
I bought mine in July 1998 so it is either a 1998 or 1987 and is has no suspension and mango colour.
Exactly the same bike as the one above.

I wonder...🤔 if @Thorpie that the bike you posted above in 2008? Is now my bike?🤯 I purchased the bike from eBay a long time ago & your description to everything you mention is exactly the same spec? Apart from the seat/saddle change & pedals but I still have the original seat:)See what you think? Here are a few pictures of the bike today & I use it at least 3 times a week & it is still in fantastic condition as the day I purchased it:cool:

Great condition for the age.... just please put the front QR on the correct side :)

 Yes...I did that thinking I prefer it that way but then a friend also pointed out to me that it's on the wrong side, I still haven't changed it round but more-so to annoy my mate when we go out riding together  I will change it over ;)

i think yours is a bigger frame than the one from 2008. The tell tale is the gap between the top tube and the down tube where they attach to the headtube.
