'98 Scott Endorphin FINISHED ! + 1st ride pics

Re: '98 Scott Endorphin is REBORN !

I'm not visiting 98+ part quite often (ratcher I'm not visiting thist part of forum), but I saw pics of the frame with forks and wheels (Mike drop me them via PM)
I'm allways sceptic, when frame is repainted to non-ori colours, but this one looks preety good it that green and red!
Mike, You should post those photo from PM - in daylight it looks great!
Good job bro, can't wait to see whole bike!

Re: '98 Scott Endorphin is REBORN !

thats looking tres chic Mike - now get it build

Re:

Pm'ed a few people, then forgot to update thread  I'll do it tonight.
Next job, cabling up the brakes that have arrived. Waiting on bb before fitting chainset and sorting out the gears.
Itching to try it out tbh

Nah, just leave it as a select few............

Re:

Managed to get the rebuild started this weekend, after what seems like aaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss waiting to get the frame back from my friend who painted it.
Fitted the forks, having found a spare headset the right colour, along with the wheels,

controls also on now,

The bars are 530mm, which may prove too narrow, but I'll give them a go and report back.

Had to dig deep for the seatpost, and with a saddle pinched from another bike I'm selling, I have a nice looking sofa to perch on,

Also bolted on the rear mech and put the shiny new cassette on,

Getting there slowly.

Next job is bolting on the Scott brakes, worth trying being Scott branded and black, which IMO looks fab

Here's a photo of the overall look, chainset is fitted loosely on a bb, for photo purposes. The right length bb is on the way as I write.
May get a black outer chainring if I can find one in 44t with a 94bcd , as I think it's just too silver as it stands.

Hope to get it finished before all the snow disappears, as it contrast nicely with the white stuff for photos !

Nearly there,

Mike

Re: '98 Scott Endorphin REBIRTH, updated 20th Jan

As skolioza said, original painting is always better, but I understand you couldn't preserve it.

It looks really good in green, but I'm not sure if green colour matches red

I think I more or less disagree with everything in this post.

I think the Endo looks great and there is nothing better than a contrast in colour to make a bike really stand out.

Re:

Hi biking buddies ;)

Just a small update for you.

I painted - badly - the headtube badge this weekend.

This very evening, I received the chainrings for it too, so they went on,

Think the ano bolts , sent from my Scott brother ;) , match ok .

Nearly there now. Just need to put on front mech and chain, then cable it up. And fix badge on the headtube and heli tape the stickers

Hopefully I'll be able to actually swing a leg over it this weekend!

Mike
