Trek Fan
Been out of the biking for many years but recently jumped back in at 52. Current bike is a Trek Marlin 6.... Finally got around to putting the Specialized Aim Comp back together. Needed a new bottom bracket, tires, seat, grips, cables and housings... pretty much all the little stuff. Soaked a lot of the hardware in phosphoric to de-rust some of it, replaced othersfe. One of my SRAM 9.0 shifters was broken and was lucky to find some like-new tear offs on eBay. It needs a new rear damper to replace the Rock Shox Deluxe. Ended up ordering a Risse that will be here in a while.
Probably weird for most to dump ~$700 into a nearly 30yo bike thats worth maybe $100.... I get it!!! I'm questioning my sanity too. but I really like this bike and am having fun working on it and reliving some of the fun.
