97/98 Judy Stanchions, 96 Lowers?

Can it be done?

I'm currently selling the bits in the title. Can 97/98 stanchions (from a set of Judy DH forks with a one piece arch and lowers) be made to work with 96 Judy XC Lowers?

I realise that the bolts (and therefore bolt holes) are slightly bigger on the later forks, but if the bolt holes were drilled out slightly on the earlier lowers, would they fit. This would essentially result in a set of nice 80mm travel Judy DHs (with a leak-free damper in each leg!) masquerading as a natty set of earlier Judy XCs

Yes, bolt holes are the only differences.

Hi Barney,

Are you selling on here, or eBay? Would you sell the 97/98 stanchions & dampers separately? My brother has a leaky 95/96 (plastic damper bodies) set of Judy DH's and that would be a perfect fix.
