Retro Newbie
Just checking if there's any interest in this frame before i bin it.
It's a 1996 model frame with the square CNC chainstays. I've had the bike from new, but in its later years its been used as a commuter and touring bike. To 'grunge' it, I've taken all the stickers off and the frame finish is a bit rough and ready.
I used it for the trans pennine trail last year. On the ride the frame developed a creak - i think I may have overtightened the seat post clamp. There's a hairline crack above the weld where the top tube meets the seat tube post. I'm not sure how terminal it is, as the seat post in theory takes some of the load. A local welder offered to try and fix it, but he never got back in touch (and I never chased him), so the frame's ended up sitting in the garage.
Anyway, if anyone wants it, get in touch. Frame size is 19" (centre BB to centre top tube). Not sure if it's worth anything, so say £20 ono (or no offer!!! ) I'm in York if you wanted to pick it up...
