'96 Manitou EFC w/AC Dual Crown conversion, Formula Disc brake, Control Tech stem, Clear grip shift

Retro Newbie
Looking for an estimate on a rare front end setup I have. Its a '96 Manitou EFC fork with the AC dual crown conversion and speed springs. Fork is functional although could probably use a re-lube. Included is a disc brake conversion mount, with a complete Formula system attached (pads move when the lever is squeezed, so seems like the bleed is still decent). I also have a US-made Control Tech stem, Azonic riser bar, and period-correct Sram Grip shifter in clear plastic that still bangs through all its clicks. Im in the States, and a local collector has offered $600 USD. I can't find any examples of the AC kit for sale, so I don't know if that's a fair offer. For context, I own/operate a MTB shop, and I like having old forks around for nostalgia/conversation so it is valuable to me. I don't really need the money, although it could go toward some new kit which I would actually ride, so I'm seriously thinking about selling it. Do I counter offer at $800? $1000? Is this a unicorn, the last of its kind? Any insight is appreciated.

Hi, please apologize not making any statement about the worth, but I just have to express that this fork is exciting 🤩

The both AC brochures from 96 and 98 I do have as copy aren't including any dual crown kit, and the brake arch seem to be also different to the regular one from AC for Manitou forks.
I think it's rare, especially also the combination of a nice fork, exotic dual crown kit and other cool stuff like Speed Springs tuning kit and Formula disc brake adapter makes this very unique.

agreed, to the right buyer this is a valuable and rare unit. ebay sellers are asking $1000 for a simple Answer accutrax disc fork. this must be that much at least?

What people ask and what they get are two different things.

The only value is in the actual fork, the parts are not really that valuable. The AC kit is itself rare and looks in reasonable condition too. I think the offer is about right, though would I imagine, it may go a bit higher with a couple of interested buyers bidding against each other. You could always put it on ebay to gauge interest?

to me there is also value in having it all together as a 'set' having the ac kit or the efc or the formula disc with adapter separate would be sort of rare, all together the value goes up imo.

clutching at straws here now, has anyone got any other form of contact for Hypermoto? so I can try and contact them
