96 Kona Koa

i just stumbled upon this thread so i thought i'd add knowledge.

i have a 97 muni mula which i've had since new, i've never seen another one. dunno why.

more to the point i have a 96 kona catalogue. and yes they both have 7005 frames with the munimula being butted, and according to the catalogue the koa frame comes in at 3.8lbs with the munimula being 3.6lbs

just thought i'd add this info so you fellow kona geeks can swot up!!!

I like it. It's the same colour as my prototype paint 1995-1/2 Explosif.

I would also never dream of getting my Explosif painted - I like what little of the original paint is still there and the scars are those of battle :twisted:

Which is the same colour as that "Blue SS Thing" of mine used to be.

Your Koa looks a brighter red than that, not quite so much a burgundy.
Unless it's a white balance issue, I don't think so though. The same blue decals certainly.
For what it's worth, I'd try and keep the same colour if I was refinishing it, although it looks tidy enough anyway to me.
