96 Hei Hei

Wasnt sure if you spotted something in the serial number that i wasnt aware of OP. So a late '94 eh? Def looks like a bad attempt at removing that cable stop. Knowing wall thicknesses are measured in decimals of a millimetre it always makes me cringe when i see that people have removed cable stops, unless of course its done correctly by a well respected frame builder. Theres not a lot of margin for error.

So it's a 19" and with 655 at the end, that's a 95. The decals, if original are 94 so it's all indicating a later 94 range purchase. as per Haggis, the geometry was different in 96.

Agreed..... and this is something that we also may agree on:

Is it possible that the "super super super small ding/scratch on the top tube which is cosmetic which can be seen in 3 of the pictures. It's almost not worth mentioning." was a Cable Stop that has been removed.

See the picture below the e-Bay frame for a correctly positioned Cable Stop for a Hei Hei.

I think you're spot on Pip - it's the right place isn't it. It beg's the question....why? It also means the buyer will need to invest in those god-awful clamp on stoppers or invest in a welder ;)

I can only assume that it was the cardinal sin of drilling out a conventional cable brake stop with a view to fitting a hydraulic Magura brake hose  – I’ve seen it done on a few classic frames in the past  – ouch!

I guess it could have gone gone horribly wrong, which resulted in what we now see.
