For Sale:

A classic 1996 Turner Burner frame 17" (22.5" top tube) silver anodised. In good condition (though a good polish would really make it look brilliant/new ) with upgraded shock (Fox Vanilla RC) and XCE linkages to give 3.6" travel. The bushes are slop free and the whole thing works really nicely. It hasn't really been used for the past five years and it's been well looked after.

I'm not really sure what this is worth but on the basis that it's in good condition, the design still cuts the mustard and having had a look on ebay for what they've gone for, I reckon that it's worth £300ish but I'm happy to take advice if I'm being too optimistic :)

PM or email me if you're interested and I can provide more pics.

I also have the hope torque arm and matching rear wheel if you want to be able to run discs on it (it's canti/v-only as standard)

I also have all sorts of other bits for it to sell (incl most of what's in the pic above) so let me know if there are other bits you'd want with it as I'd be happy to do deals.

Aaargh - you need to put a price up (them's the rules), but I'll certainly be tempted when you do! :)

LOL - I was wondering how long that would take ;)

I disagree though - £400 is less than I reckon it's worth which is why I originally bought it - it was for a mate to use the frame to upgrade his hardtail to a full susser - seemed like a cheap way to do it.

Trouble is that he's decided that he doesn't have the cash and as such, I'm now selling it.

at a profit...

nothing wrong with that, split it up, put the prices you want for the parts and see if they sell, stop pretending you dont know how much it is worth.
it is worth what you paid for it as a bike, more in parts, how much more is how greedy you are.

I think that's what he's intending. If I'm reading it right it's £300 for the frame only.

"stop pretending you dont know how much it is worth. "

I'm not pretending - I said above what I'm guessing it's worth. If someone agrees then that's what it's worth.

If I'd been buying the complete bike for myself (ie it was the right size for me) then I'd have been willing to pay a good bit more than £400 for it on the basis of what I think the frame's worth so that's what it's worth to me. I suppose that you could argue that on that basis that I do know what it's worth but that's only if someone else agrees...

The other bits on the bike I can value/tell you what they're worth as they're a lot newer and I know what they tend to sell for. I haven't seen a '96 Turner in similar condition recently to know if my valuation is in any way accurate. For all I know, Turners for retro fans could either be the holy grail and worth far more than I guessed or view them as old hat and worth not a lot at all.
