I have a set of m952 cranks but no bottom bracket - do any of my fellow mid-nineties Kona owners happen to run them? and if so - what size BB do I need to find?

Update- I just fitted the bb and cranks, my cranks are 950(right arm) and 951(left arm) miss-sold to me on ebay arghh, but never mind, i think thet are the same dims as the 952.

just fitted with an xtr 952 bb 116, it gives you a 50mm chainline which seems ok, and around 10 mm crank clearance on the stays.

The 952 also comes in a 112 spindle length which would probably bring the chainline down to what sheldon recommends but may rub the chain on the big ring if you were in the middle at the front and small at the back.

But I'm actually using an 8 speed set up, and I suppose if you're using a 952 you will probably be running 9 so I may have confused you even more!!

or you could go for a dura ace........

Intending to run 8 speed with m952 cranks so will try to find a 116mm BB.

Am I going to have problems running m952 on a 8 speed set-up?

I will be using same as you on my explosif, and was told m952 will be fine with 8 speed set-up. ;)

Yep should run fine, I think the 952s had a little extra width on the chainring washers to allow for the greater range on the rear for 9 speed.
