95/96 Orange E3 seatpost size

Hi, this is my first post after lurking for a little while getting some ideas. I have an Orange E3 that I bought back in early 1996 and built up from scratch using new parts at the time. It's been in the shed for a while but it is basically sound apart from having a cracked Syncros seatpost. I have removed the seatpost and there is the original shim in there. The seatpost is a 26.4. Having looked on the Orange website it seems to suggest a 27.2 seatpost when shimmed. Everything is original on the bike so it seems a bit strange. 26.4mm seatposts are hard to come by, is it possible to get a different sized shim to suit a 27.2mm post?

29.8mm is the direct size. But orange generally shimmed them to 27.2mm

I have 2 E3' projects at the moment One with a shim (27.2) and one without. I'm hedging my bets.!

I have a post at the moment concerning a timeline of the E2/E3. in the >97 section. I would be interested in the year of your frame and what changes (if any) it has.
