94 Muddy Fox Monarch Ultra

Cool! Much like the dream/spec lists many of us made back in the day after rifling through the mtb mags

Currently corresponding with everyone's favourite decal maker Gil_m and just sent some measurements...which I'll leave here for reference in case anyone else does up a mid 90s Fox in future

The 'Muddy Fox' decal with the paw is 313mm in length. The letter height is 25mm with the paw measuring 30mm...


The 'Monarch Ultra' decal is 320mm in length. All the lettering is 10mm high with the box around 'Ultra' being 15mm high...


The paw for the head tube is 40mm wide and 42mm high...

Been busy with the acetone cleaning some errant paint spray off today. Looking nice Such a lovely colour. BB went in smoothly....

Forks going back on today if all goes to plan. Headset bearings have cleaned up nicely

Today's a good day. Brakes cleaned, greased and mounted. Headset greased and forks on. Stem's just holding them snug until a locknut/brake hanger arrives

Getting ahead of myself and going a bit daft now! Wheels sorted and rear derailleur on which is all good Bunged the bars/levers/shifters on just to get an idea but I need to retrace and clean up the shifters so I'm calling it a day...I can hear a beer calling from somewhere!?

Fred Salmon stem looked a bit oversize...so got a Tioga which has cleaned up nicely.
XT shifters that I tried are from V-Brake era so don't get on with cantilever levers(!) Bunged on some X-Ray Gripshift but I'm not convinced. They look a bit bulky (not pictured BTW!). I'm thinking I need to get some93/4 XT shifters!
Happy with this combo though

I've been on the lookout for some touch-up paint. I have a page in a notebook which consists of reg' numbers from cars I've seen that look about right! I think I might be more insane than I thought I was! (Just in case you're wondering: there are paint sites where you can enter a plate for a colour match!)
