94 C Record or 95 Record - which chainset is your favourite?

I have two chainsets, and can't decide between them... the first is a C Record, the second is a Record (actually from 2006, it's 10 speed, but I think the arms were actually the same from the 1995 redesign until they stopped making them). I like both of them, but one has to go... and I can't decide which!
The C Record is on my caygill now, and if it goes the record will be replacing it (either with 8s rings, or the 10s rings it has now and some spacers if needed). The build is "early 90s" rather than a specific groupset, so I think the record will fit the style of build.

Can anyone help me decide?

pics of both chainsets and the bike below!

cheers, Andy

I'd keep the C-Record given it looks nicer and would be harder to replace. However sounds like you favour the record in which case sell me the c-record and keep the record - jobs a goodun ;)

The Record is my all time favourite chainset from any manufacturer. The only blot on it's stylistic copy book is the "printed" logo. If it had the engraved logo from the C-Record it would be perfect rather than 99%.

But as John says the C-Record is harder to replace and probably worth more too. Tough choice you have there.

Mark.

Looks like the C Record is the out and out favourite! I think I have to agree, but I do like the lines of the record model too. This C Record is in excellent condition though, it took me ages to find one like this! Hopefully funds won't become to tight and I can keep hold of them both :)

95-type Record is cosmetically much nicer IMHO. It also shifts better.

However....

BB is a stupid size and notorious for creaking. So I do actually prefer the older one.

C-record I'd say as well.
95 might shift better, but that's just a matter of swapping chainrings (if you don't mind the graphics).

For what it's worth I prefer the record although the c-record seems to suit your bike (and era?) anyway. And by the way the bike looks fantastic ! spot on
