93 Zaskar in the shop

Did you get any further with this build?

Just acquired a 93/94 Zaskar. Same month & year build as this one. Assuming it’s a 94 by the decals.

Saw the attached set of graphics on eBay. Similar to the ones you posted previously.

Noted that the head tube GT logo is outlined in colour on the reproduction set. But yours looked to be outlined in black. Is that correct? Plus does it have a GT logo on the seat tube?

I did get this one finished about 9 months ago. I forgot to update with pics so here you go. Went with a yellow set of decals to match some of the stickers on other parts. Sold it to a GT collector up in NORCAL near Oregon.

I'm gonna say that's a 1994 mate, good to see another zaskar again, I had three of them years ago. Great bikes, the 16 inch has a nice short top tube so has a nice riding position compared to other bikes of the period.

Great job! Loving the XTR. Mines goning to be an XT build. Blame Brexit.

Do you have any more detailed pictures of the original graphics?

These are what were on it when I got the bike. I don't think there was a seat tube sticker.

That’s helpful thanks.

Other pictures of frames I’ve seen online don’t have a GT on seat tube either. Yet some models do. Strange

So, dumb me forgot that this frame was bent at the seat/chainstays so I replaced the frame with the one that is wearing the yellow stickers. This is how this frame looked when I got it, notice the cable guide under the top tube. I didn't know it was bent until I was installing the rear wheel and the tire was close to the left seat stay. Good thing I only paid $60 for the bike...was all done polished and restickered.

Mine has the same guide and cable mark to match. Not a great design.

Did you try to straighten the rear triangle?
