I'm surprised you found that many headsets at 33mm, I have struggled to find any at that size, are you sure the list is accurate? most threaded are 39mm with a few hard to find ones down at 37

That list was (near) useless. They are/were all obsolete and impossible to find unless you get lucky and find NoS. Hence I went with a second hand Impact. GripNut from Chris King will do it I'm told as the lock nut doesn't screw on to the steerer but on to a shim thing.

Why not fit a CK 2-Nut or Grip Nut? Not enough height?
Gripnut looks like it is the way to go if I leave the stock fork as is. Only problem is no one in the UK stocks them and the UK distributor doesn't even list them on their website. Which is pretty typical here in blighty.

I bought mine from bromley bikes? but it was a couple of years back - they were the importer - I only bought the conversion kit though so I could switch between my threaded rigid and ahead sus forks.
You could use aspire velotech on ebay - I believe they are very reliable but you might pay import tax.

taken a compromise way out. I've managed to get some replacement headset bits from in here, and have got a slightly later P2 fork off flea bay.

Will leave the original fork as-is and have the new one modded to aheadset and then put it on the bike for day-to-day use keeping the pukka stuff for when I get around to a full on restoration.
