I just leave it as it is but i suppose you could clear coat it if you want to.

Quick update, got all the gears set up just trying to decide to go with the black Deore XT or silver Deore XT cantilevers, i'm thinking silver 
The Deore DX seatpost is fitted but i'm just not sure the Flite saddle goes well with it,i'm 50/50 on that one at the moment.
And for once the sun was out
so i've managed to get some photos of the bike, the first couple are in the shade and the rest in the sun, i think it gives you a good idea how the paint changes.

Think it's a really fun idea for the paint - certainly not something I would have thought of for a '93 Explosif!

Titanium bolts arrived aswell, some like the ones for the stem i got the measurements correct others i didn't lol i'll need to cut the seatclamp one down or add some more small washers to space it out. As for the brake cable guide bolt i just got that one completely wrong lol so i'll need to order another but i'll use micrometers this time instead of guesstimating

So after deciding to sell it and then deciding not to we've gone full circle again and it's now built up and i'm really glad it didn't sell because i love how this has turned out.
On deciding to rebuild it back up i thought i'm going to go for as close to in and around that year as possible for parts.
So Ritchey Logic levers with some nos Deore XT M737 cantilevers will provide the stopping power. Changing gear comes from some Deore XT thumbshifters a like new Deore XT M737 front mech and a good condition XTR rear mech. For the chainset i couldn't find a 93 Sugino Mighty chainset but i did have a 95 Sugino Mighty 900 chainset so that's on.
Wheels are Deore XT hubbed Wolbers at18's with purple nipples not quite pink but they'll do.
Saddle is a Avocet Racing 1 and seatpost is a nos Deore DX.
I've swapped the bars out from the matching colour Kona 165's to some black 165's it just looks way better.
Oh and not to forget the titanium bolts in the stem clamp, seatclamp and cable guide that saved a few grammes lol looks nice though
now to set everything up.

Not sure if I filled you in or not
.....But I managed to resource a "Made in Taiwan" decal that I heated up from a cheap £30 Kona I bought... applied double back adhesive tape to it and located it on my Cindercone!
It's the small things hey!! Ha ha
Thank you for pointing it out originally as I would have totally overlooked that one.
