Hi,

I have a 91 GT Xizang with a U-Brake on the rear and some modern Shimano v-brakes on the front.

I am looking to fit some Paul Components brake levers but I am unsure what to buy with the pull ratios etc.

Any help would be great.

Tony

Re:

I'm with you on matching levers, hate mismatched stuff like that.

Not sure what kind of pull a u brake has compared to a v brake, but you could use a matching set of v levers with something like a problem solver cable pull adjuster type thing at some point on the u brake cable run as used with v brake lever to canti brake (at least I think it is that way around). Failing that there are levers that can run both v and canti pull, off the top of my head I can only think of tech lite levers, but there are others. I think real designs did some, had 2 holes, one for canti, one for v and a crescent shaped insert to blank the unused one off.

Avid speed dial levers have adjustable pull. So the way I understand it, you could buy a pair and wind one for a v brake and the other for the canti. Simples?
