I'll agree that maybe it wasn't the best respray but it was done in 1997 when the "retrobike" concept hadn't been thought of.
If you read my listing I explain that I don't use it much (at all) and haven't done so for 8 years. This is why I'm selling!
Gordon - you obviously don't read/remember very well! I told you "Scant was very kind to let me know that he thought the frames value was 90-130 quid depending on condition - he didn't have photos at the time he made this estimate."
I was new to the retro bike trading thing at the time and so had asked his advice on values. Before you all voiced your opinions I had realised that the frame is not to everyone's liking and may not be worth as much as I thought initially . The auction was started at the minimum I was prepared to take for the frame having watched a few auctions and got a feel for values of frames of the era - £35 quid.
Reckon it could be a pretty nice restoration for very little cash. Assuming the current decals aren't lacquered over then the frame could be cleaned up and just the centre panels 'rattle-canned' white fade (shouldn't see too much scuffing there, as I know that's not the most durable paint option), pop on the original decal set - job done
As I bet your all sick of hearing, I'm searching for an Orange HT and it could be a cheap way to build a Clockwork. I'd need to get it stripped and resprayed, cos I'm like that, so for me it wouldn't be a too cost effective option. I'm only saying as I see it from the view point of someone who's looking to buy.
