Reluctantly, I am selling my Sintesi XC bike as my physio has recommended that cycling is not great for my hip. I built this bike with bits off Retrobike and Pink Bike, with the odd eBay and new bit thrown in. It's a mix of old and modern bits but I love it.
For a heavy full sus bike it's quite light and very responsive. The rear is locked out ATM so it rides like a rigid rear end. The quality of the welds is beautiful, it's Italian and looks the part. It's well used, and not perfect, but I love it and I'm sorry to see it go.
Spec:
Late 90s Sintesi Hantrax aluminium frame, approx 18.5" - I'm probably a touch big at 6'2".
Verlicchi anodised red rear triangle
Pace RC36 carbon forks with disc mount
Tomac rear shock with titanium spring
Onza Mongo headset
Carbon headset spacers
Shorty CNC aluminium stem
X-Lite XC riser bars
Ritchey grips
Giant carbon seat pin
Hope seat clamp
Charge Spoon saddle
Hope Mono Mini calipers, EBC pads and silicone fluid
Hope levers
XT 8-speed shifters
Kevlar-style braided shift cables
XT top swing front mech
XT rear mech
Titanium rear mech bolt
Middleburn polished cranks - 175mm
XT chain rings with anodised red bolts
XT bottom bracket
XT chain and Shark Fin
Odyssey Triple Trap pedals (which I love)
Mavic CD321 disc rims
Can't remember what spokes they are
Hope 180mm front disc, 165mm rear
WTB front hub
XT 8-speed rear hub and cassette
WTB/ XT skewers
Panaracer Fire XC tyres
Green Slime puncture proof tubes
Bad bits:
One rear bush is worn and there is play in the rear triangle. It's not much when you ride but it is there.
There are numerous scratches and dings, and the red anodising is worn.
The brakes squeak.
It's used and the frame is 15+ years old, but there aren't any cracks or problems that I'm aware of. The forks will need a service at some point (easily done by the Pace man).
Pics - these are old but I can get some up to dare ones if people want:
Price? No idea. Viewing in Kent, might be able to deliver. More pics on request. I suspect it would break for near what I want as a going concern.
Offers around £400 please - but open to offers.
Might p/x for something interesting.
