Wanted 9 speed long cage shimano rear derailleur

Hi I have a dura ace semi compact crankset 39 and 53 rings. Had a 11to28 cassette but following heart surgery I cannot manage same I have bought a 13 to36 cassette but my old 105 long cage rear mech can only just manage the 32 cog with the B limit screw right in. Could anyone sell me a rear mech that will carry the 36 cog. Thanks for reading Colin

A couple of things
First 53/39 is not semi compact. That's full meat-head race kit. Semi compact is typically 52/36, the rings are fitted onto a compact crankset.
I wouldn't get another mech - get an extender that lowers the mech so that the jockeys clear the big sprocket. See photo. I think this one is about a tenner from spa cycles
I'd also doubt whether you need a 53 big ring. I'd consider a new 50/34 compact chainset

I have to agree with @pigman - it's easiest to change stuff at the front, even possibly a triple.

If you do decide to switch at the back, for road up to 10 speed any Shimano MTB rear mech up to 9 speed will work fine. After that it's a compatibility nightmare.

The sensible way round is probably to go to a compact crankset, but if you've already got the cassette...

The old Shimano 9-speed MTB mechs typically had a max of 34T large sprocket but the more modern Alivio RD-M3100 (£25 at Amazon) is one of the few 9-speed mechs that is designed for 36, so no need for the extender. For what you're trying to achieve that looks a good bet to me.
