The shifters were nice and bendy being cheap nasty deore. The bars are 50s Raleigh so not upsetting the build at all. The bar ends were about the fourth set before hitting the ergonomic jackpot.

then the cockpit transplant began.

The existing shifters and levers were used as I now knew the would fit. I had to use a new rear brake inner and stage one cable. Red seemed appropriate.

I’m tempted to retape the bars as I have a couple of other choices. I think the camo detracts from the form of the cockpit and makes it less startling.
