89 Saracen Trekker comp finally gets built!

In the years that it took for the courier to deliver the forks I have been and got a new headset, all the cables I need and a chain. Already had a bottom bracket, so really quick to put it all together.

I got a black headset but I notice in your pics, and in GM's, both bikes have a chrome locking nut so I found one of those in the shed. I do have a spare black seat post as well but its in storage at work so I'll have to dig it out.

Turns out I had no brake blocks, forgot about them! So, all done now I think. Will take it for a ride tomorrow, weather looks good, and get some decent pics. I think it looks great, the new looking parts look fine on the old frame. Now its done the only thing not quite right is the non black cranks but I can live with that. Other than that its pretty much as it should be.

Oh, the rims are modern but the hubs are original 89 dx.

Yes, never expected to find any and didn't have any searches set up. It was the saddle that came up first and then I looked at "other items" from the same seller. He was splitting up a trekker comp with and not selling the frame due to it being damaged I think.

Why the big sell off? Shame you sold the trekker though, I only saw it this summer.

This one is going to be my pub/town/swimming pool bike, instead of my XT which is getting put back to original. So, sadly for this one its going to have a rack and slick tyres for a while.
