'89 Ritchey TimberComp - more pics

That shot of the headtube, wow

Lovely, lovely colour too, not surprised that you're really pleased.

Update on this bike.

Its now SS and powdercoated. I ummed and ahhed about it a lot but decided that I love what it is now more than what it used to be. The BB shell has light pitting but the rest in perfect nic, and i'm happy I did it.

Changes are a plenty. Parts standouts are the Ultimate Vs, McMahon Ti stem, Flite Alpes saddle and the White Ind BB which is the free running champion of my house. Anyway, i guess its not so retro anymore, but its super light and climbs and corners better than ever on sandy hardpack thanks to the aspens.

I played with a softride stem recently and am yet to decide whether i will chuck it on for a long race in November, along with an 8sp rear wheel.

Now its just a grey boring looking single speed.

It was yours to do with as you please but in the name of all things shiney

Why the hell did you do that???

I can' believe it...
And you don't have Time Machine to turn back, do you?
Cheers,
Chus

You know what?

I think the build looks very nice indeed.

It was just the wrong donor frameset! At least you didn't grind bits off,did you?

al. :(

ps I hope these comments from the members don't p1ss you off too much? They come from a good place and are not made just to have a pop at ya' ;)

I think its looks great - you've made a bike suited to you :)

The only problem is that the "value" of the original classic has plummeted. But that can be easily brought back with a repaint and hanging the original components back on it.
