I never set out to buy a Muddy Fox , I'm more of a Marin / GT man myself , but drunken late night browsing of eBay led to my downfall.v  I bought it because of the colour if I'm honest lol
I knew it had a stripped steerer tube , so was prepared for that as the first problem. It was solved by CezarB who supplied me the forks and stem from his Pathfinder with a broken frame.
Unfortunately , the steerer tube was much longer than my one and my bike shop wasn't keen to tackle it , so Danson57 kindly performed the necessary surgery.
I didn't want to spend much money on it , so most of the bits I swapped were things I had knocking around in the garage anyway. Red Fred Salmon front skewer , purple canti hangers , yellow Mt Christophe toe clips , old black seatpost clamp etc.
I had to source a new saddle and lucked out with a period Muddy Fox patterned saddle that matches the prints on the frame. I also sourced a USE copy seatpost as the one it came with was well undersize and the frame had been clamped up.
Stem and bars on it were faded black and rusty , I had a set of glossy bars knocking about , and popped a pair of £2 foam grips ( that I love ) on. I've got some yellow Onza grips but am reluctant to commit them to this as I think I want them on another bike of mine
Popped a set of polished Deore lx cantis on as the plastic Dia Compe cantis were awful. I've got a set of polished DX brake levers to go on at some point too.
A set of charge splashbacks and some karma purple Fred salmon bar ends completed it. Might pop an XT shark fin on too.
Paintwork is in great nick , so just needed a t cut and a polish.
It's ok to ride , it weighs as much as the moon , and feels it. The long stem doesn't help with the handling either , but it looks so cool.
