89 Cindercone in excellent condition

Spoke to him as soon as it was listed first time round. he thinks he has something super rare and felt he could get 400-600 easily for this

wasnt the easiest of person to speak to either and refused to enter into any comms unless he was called.

im sure the condition is good but it isnt worth £375, not when most are being picked up for £60-£150!!!!

I'll be amazed if they sell it especially saying they won't post, looking at the pictures closely the frame and forks look in good condition but some parts look rusted and oxidised,so theres alot of work still to be done to get it looking mint.

As a comparision this was mine i sold last year and was chuffed to get £230 for it. I'd had the wheels serviced and rebuilt, upgraded the chainset to a mountain LX then replaced the mountain LX shifter/brake combo for Deore II levers and thumbies, that was partly coz i couldnt ride the bike with the LX 4 finger levers and fixed postion thumbies  then cleaned and polished all the parts. I offered postage and it still took a while to sell,so they could be waiting a while to sell that.

Echoing above I sold a refurbished, rebuilt and reenergised 89 for 230 about 14 months ago. It was in better condition than the one he's selling. It'll slowly dawn on the seller that it's too expensive when they relist it for the 9th or 10th time. Bit like the crazy priced 98 Explosif with the "small dent".

I spoke to the seller when he first listed it and he said that he'd rather keep it than go much less than £400. I guess he realised it wasn't going to make it so pulled it and stuck on the BIN

Looks like it has an Exage Trail chainset fitted which look OK but have heavy steel rings, so you'd also need to budget to replace with either the OEM Mountain LX or something else decent.

Carl.
