80's Shimano 105 hubs wheel rebuild

My current project needs some wheels, it came with some Shimano 105 hub wheels, just given the hubs a going over, re-lubed etc and they seem fine.

However the rear rim is goose'd and the front could probably do with new spokes, question is what rims to go for? a modern Mavic rim and desticker it or can you get 80's rims from somewhere?

Keep an eye on evilbay, there's usually quite a few on there including NOS.

What rims have you currently got?

Not sure what the current rims are, there's no markings or stickers on them.

Maybe look for a good condition 2nd hand pair of wheels?- by the time you buy new or NOS rims and suitable spokes etc you've spent more than you would've on a decent set of used wheels.

That's exactly what I ended up doing, got a pair of 105 hubbed wheel's with the cassette I needed for £40
