80's fashion/getting old realisation

went to see twisted wheel last night at sheffield leadmill and thought i'd gone to a fancy dress party.

i am getting old.

for the first time in my life i honestly thought "what do they look like"

there was i in my regulation skate shoes, baggy jeans and retrobike t and there was a sea of stupid tight jeans, rediculous trainer boots, back combed hair. tho only "good" 80's lookers i saw had gone down more of a "this is england" cherry docks, tightish jeans and a fred perry.

why copy the 80's? i can understand that fashion comes and goes but the 80's were a total disaster surely?

girls are wearing those rediculous one piece suits and rara skirts.

is this a phase or am i genuinely getting old?

Good heavens. Whatever next? They'll probably be riding about on crappy old mountainbikes next week, it'll never catch on though. The modern ones with their suspension and disk brakes and carbon fiber or hydroformed aluminium frames are far superior in every way.

There is some very odd things in clothing these days..

Skinny jeans I can deal with, used to wear them myself - nearly 30 years ago .... but mine had a full complement of material to make up the midriff part..

The ones the kids are wearing now appear to have the waistband about 4" too low...

I still dress in mostly 80s togs myself.

Today I'm wearing adidas gazelle in ink blue, blue straight leg jeans, Lacoste shirt and a Pringle diamond sweater.
