I am looking for a set of 8-speed downtube shifters. Must be Shimano, preferably 7402 or 600-series.

* to seweryn * I'm guessing you know that the dura ace 8 speed levers pulled cable at a different rate to all other shimano 8 speed levers and must be used with a dura ace 8 speed rear derailleur .

Thank you for the info. No, I wasn't aware of this. Below I attach a photo of my rear derailleur and I will appreciate your comments.
It is the previus generation 105. Which shifters are compatible with it for an 8-speed Shimano cassette?

every shimano 8 speed except dura ace will work properly , 7 speed has the same spacing as 8 so that would work too but you need to go into "no click land" and rely on the derailleur limit screw only for the largest cog . cheers Ian

Silver / chrome would be second option. Are they 8-speed and compatible with my derailleur?
