OK - so a little time again this weekend - I took the crank off and the axle is 122.5mm. I don’t think I overtightened - I think it’s normally ~30Nm torque (40Nm for those with the lever/guns for it) for a square taper BB. This puts me on the frame. Thoughts? I have a 126mm axle available…

Checked the biopace crankset the bike came with vs the one I picked up and the bolts are recessed vs the one I am installing - might take the rings off and look more closely.

Finally found the original BB - 126mm…

My 126mm axle is for a 73mm shell . It’s not the chainring bolts - the biopace is recessed as the chainring is thicker and the machined teary are on the outside of the ring (I.e. it has a lip on the outside).
