Any interested in this 60s mercian?

Paint and chrome is an attrocious condition with pitting on the fork. which is a shame becaues the original colour is beautiful.

Think it was a custom because I can't find anything that looks exactly like it.

Wrapover seatstay
pencil seatstays
nervex pro lugs
built for 27 x 1 1/4 tyres so clearance for 650 x 42c / 700x 35ish
unusual pollished alloy headsed with 6 sided nut

60s frames have different front end geometry with more rake on the fork (2 1/8").

Not too keen to sell. but it's just doing nothing, nice bike to ride

offers?

Putting £100 here coz i need a price, feel free to offer wildley around that

23" seat tube c-t
22 1/4" top tube c-c

This needs a price as the rules say. It's now on the bottom of your screen whilst in the adverts section ;)
So please put a price on it.
Thanks

Jamie

saw this in person yesterday, & would suggest late 80's custom model ( as not exactly matching anything in my 80's Mercian catalogues), original colour poly emerald green, 531 tubing, & as the OP states, the chrome plating is shot, no dents or other issues.... the frame & forks is worthy of a sympathetic refurb though...
55cm seat tube/top tube & the rear has been opened up to approximately 130mm

Serial number is 8964
I am unconvinced that it is 80's for the following reasons:
built for 27 x 1 1/4 wheels
brass grease nipple in bottom bracket
braze ons for over bb cable routing
Rake of the fork - looks much closer to the french/ jack taylor style which they changed to the very slight rake more familiar to mercians

Here is an example from 89, where you can see things like
canti mounts,
a tubular rear cable hanger (mine is a shaped plate),
multiple mounting points for panniers etc, engraved seatstay caps,
TT cablerouting is different
shallow fork rake,
brazed shifter bosses

RE price:
I bought it for £300 as pictured but I made the mistake of doing so in the dark when I couldn't tell ho bad the coading was. As soon as i tested it I could tell it was an excellent bike.
@Suffolk roads The fact that you say that makes me think I shouldn't.... Like I say Im in no hurry to sell. Could I be cheeky and ask what you think it's worth?
