Glad its gone to a 'family' member. Must be tough being on almost the same manor as @Guinessisgoodforyou - lots of potential for turf wars on nags that come up for sale.

John is 6'3" I'm not . The Royal I've just finished I bought off John because it was too small for him at 57cm. I saw the above and thought 60cm, I can ride it but prefer 57cm.

That one looks pretty much identical to my frame, is it a 1989? The colour scheme and decals look the same, is your dark grey a little darker in real life than it looks in that photo? Is that a Tange Unique headset, if so that is the same as the one in mine too. Is it a 27.2 seatpost and what groupset is it? Sorry for all the questions but I think it looks great and would not mind mine looking similar.

Can I ask if the forks are the same colour as the top tube in real life or are they darker as they look in the photo? Also do you know what colour it is since I will need to paint the chain stays on mine.
