56cm Raleigh Titanium......

Due to an annoying dose of blood cancer (!) I am thinking of selling this pristine and very rare RSP titanium bike dating from around 2000. By this date, Raleigh had perfected titanium filet brazing (hence the smooth welds) and this frame would be amongst the very last hand built frames manufactured in UK. It is pretty much unmarked and immaculate, and has a unique colour way. It’s a great ride which eats the miles and certainly stands out from the crowd. It is fitted with a full Dura Ace 7800 triple groupset (also unmarked), Hope/Mavic wheels, and Ritchey bars and stem. The saddle will be replaced with a Fizik item (brand new). I replaced the forks last year at great expense to lift the cockpit, I guess they have probably travelled around 20 miles! This is a very reluctant sale but my health situation has forced me onto a Bianchi electric bike to compensate for my very low power. But at least I am still pedalling! I know it’s a hackneyed expression but I really would prefer to see it being enjoyed as the very rare and high quality bike it is. I was thinking of £900; and I would also consider just selling the frame.

Thanks for the kind comments. I agree of course but it seems that only a few appreciate just how innovative Raleigh’s special unit was over the years. This frame (to me anyway!) is about the best ever made by them. Anyway, it either sells or it doesn’t. My reasons are not financial so keeping it is not a problem.
