Hi, this is my 1986 Carlton Kermesse frameset (post Raleigh merger). It's a 56cm seat tube, short head tube, Reynolds 501 frame and matching fork and headset. It uses a 26.8mm seat post.
I had it powder coated as the basis of my retro-modern road bike. The 1986 frame and fork have recessed brake holes, a derailleur hanger for modern derailleurs and a 126mm axle spacing on the fork which I found to be close enough to accommodate a modern 130mm wheel with a 10 speed cassette. It has down tube shifter bosses that I had attached cable stops to in order to use STI shifters and a 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell. All in all, this is a versatile frame that could be built up as a single speed or a retro modern road bike, or with period parts.
The powder coat is a lovely hard wearing finish, in gloss 'pale roundel' blue BS172.
All threads and surfaces are in good condition, the frame has no dents or dings. I have photographed as much of the cable rub and blemishes as I can. The fork has a fair bit of 'patina'. I didn't use it, as I had a 1" steerer carbon aheadset fork that I ran instead
I'm hoping £90 isn't unreasonable for local collection from Edinburgh, and I'm happy to price up a courier option if anyone is interested from further afield.
