I was tempted, but it's a little far away for me to collect and I need to make some room before taking on another one!

Straight forks have nothing to do with 'twitchy' steering - they will be the same rake as a curved fork.

18" 1989 Dawes Quest frame with original forks, headset, bars, stem, bb. £25 + postage.
Other original parts gone now but could come up with some Exage hubbed wheels.
