531 Competion seat post diameter

I have 2 531c Gazelles in the shop and they both have 27.0mm seatposts

I'm leaning towards 27.0 being the correct size in my particular case. I plan on having some forks made up at Argos cycles soon so i'll ask them if they'll take a look whilst it's down there.

Have you tried asking Hewitt?

For some tubing runs didn't the tubing size depend on the length of frame tube being supplied......the larger the frame the thicker the tubing (for strength) hence the smaller the seat tube ? was the case for 735 IIRC.

Muddied the waters a bit if larger tubes were cut down
