430mm rigid forks ?????

Any one know if there are 430mm rigid forks available not too expensive.......they all seem to be 420 / 440mm

Exotic has a 42.5cm carbon fork, not quite 430 but close.

why not just use some extra thick grips and wear gloves :roll:

Or use 440mm and let some air out of your tyres.

OP is running slicks and worrying about 10mm of fork length. Can't see the forest for the trees..........

steering ie turning is more precise with thin tires, so correct head angle is even more crucial. But i will be putting other tires on at different times.

Thanks everyone, still gonna look for a shorter fork.......

(that's why they make different lengths, because they all affect the bikes handling, other wise they would just make one length fork out there )

Cheap but decent, I've used two forks from them with no issues. You can probably find em on ebay.

On a similar note, Ritchey makes a nice curved blade carbon fork in 430-435mm length. I've got one on my SS. Full carbon but a bit pricey. I've got the disc only version but there's also a version with v-brake post mounts and disc mounts.

They also make different rakes/offsets which is equally important, but I still contend a MTB used as a road bike will never come close to the handleing, ride and performance of a road bike so why waste your time dialing in slick tires on a MTB. Put a dress on a pig and it still is a pig.
