You mean you lot ride this old tat?

al.

That's the crux of a lot of the problem(s)

Early members like JustKev for example (there are tons more) have been attended regularly in years gone by "scratched the itch" so to speak and have since moved on, sometimes having rediscovered cycling along the way and also coming to the conclusion on a modern bike you can rid harder, further and faster than you can on 90's rig (and fair play)

The next generation come along and its to these people I think we should be tapping into, if you joined in the past 24 months and seen none or very few posts/ activity in the region why should you know/care or be inclined to visit the backwater thread area of rides and events, some regions have 2 year old threads on the first page.

I only know the people I do by attending events and I'm much richer for it, although I still don't get the HistoryMans humour alot of the time .....even when in his company (but I still love the guy for it)

There's a new generation out there and with a Home page advertisement and a push I'm sure the number could recover
Perhaps not to the halcyon days of 2010 or when ever they were.

Re:

This conversation has changed and all I did was attend an un-official Nation Retrobike event.

Everyone was welcome and even a weekend was set aside for it.

It's up to the riders to bother to turn out if they can.

Re:

Don't draw justkev back in, he's busy making trails for me to ride my modern toss on. That reminds me, I need to do a dig day...... And a retro ride.......

There's a course that the Tavistock Clinic run that will help you come to terms with that.

I think LGF should become an ambassador for all that is retro and be given a stipend.
