Re: calling on Brodie fans

Well, the E-Bee and tourer have Brodie logos, so I call them Brodies. Other than hair splitting/sematics among the tifosi, I don't think anyone really worries too much about it.

Re:

it appears this thread has taken off in the wrong direction.
everyone seems to assume we are talking about present day.
but what about an early bike built by paul before there ever
was a brodie research & technology inc. before there were
the iconic model names we know and respect.
what would you call that? a brodie? or a custom bike built by paul brodie?
that is what we are interested in people's thoughts on.

Re: calling on Brodie fans

Didn't Paul build a bunch of the early Rocky Mountain frames, which bikes aren't called 'Brodies', but R/Mntns. A 'Paul Brodie built' Rocky Mountain, nonetheless.

Perhaps this little bit of info might shed some light on your original question ... ?

Re: calling on Brodie fans

Probably a good time to paste a link to Roy's thread which is slipping down the page viewtopic.php?f=1&t=335025

Re:

Here's a question then about present day.....if you build a frame WITH Paul Brodie at Fraser Valley school....is it a Brodie or a custom bike built with Paul Brodie?!

Re: calling on Brodie fans

if a student painted a picture in Michelangelo's studio, under his direction it was often called a Michelangelo, but.....its not really a Michelangelo and to pretend it is would just be stupid.

Is a custom bike made by Paul Brodie, a Brodie. Or is it just a custom bike that was made Paul Brodie?
Be careful with your answers. I was asked this question. I not sure what the right answer should be. Of course a few details has been left out.
Any ideas?

I think the person who asked the question needs to be more specific with the question if we're to answer it with the care they seek.

Under what circumstances and agreements has Brodie agreed to make the bike the questioner refers to?

With that detail, a proper answer can be given.

this defines the exact question to be answered.
