Anybody, after work, on weekends, could make their own creation and put their own name on the downtube after painting it. It happened frequently. End of story

Im sure they did. loving your examples by the way. ;)

Not really, I don't think, its in dispute that it did and does go on, if you had read the thread before shouting Troll, you might have not made a point and then totally contradicted yourself with your own pictures to the contrary.

whether or not there was permission for time tubes etc begged borrowed or stolen, we shall never know, they exist as the OPs first post demonstrates, whose name should adorn the frame is what we were getting at, your picture post whether intended or not, demonstrated well an answer.

A Rocky Mountain, built for Rocky Mountain, whose torch man at the time happened to be Paul Brodie, is a Rocky Mountain.

A Brodie Built in Asia, Is a Brodie, but an off the peg production bike built in Asia, like so many others, (im thinking Paul Saddoff Rock Lobster, and the NTI tie up here), Its a Brodie.

A Handbuilt Brodie, then now or in the future is a Brodie...Only a "Paul Brodie", ala Handbuilt custom one off. Its a Brodie, but I guess the "Paul" makes the Difference.

Me Building a Frame, next to and guided by/overseen/helped/fettled/tidied up with help from Paul Brodie, is a frame I have been taught to build By a master craftsman called Paul Brodie, it would have my name on it........perhaps with a custom decal from Flashback Fabrications and signed off by Paul Brodie.

It would only be a Rocky if Paul was on the clock and being paid by Rocky. If he made his own unique creation on his own time, it's more than acceptable to put his name 'Brodie' or anything else on it. If it's on his own time and unique, it is not only his intellectual property, but Rocky wouldn't want Rocky decals going on any old random bikes that the guys were cobbling together after work as they wish to protect and control their brand. If Paul made a production Rocky frame but on his own time (happened lots for a reduced wholesale rate) then Rocky decals would go on it because an Altitude is an Altitude.

Peter made this after work and on weekends and put his own brand name on it

Here's another Cooney creation while working on his own time.

Re: calling on Brodie fans

Really I cant stop laughing..., and no one is arguing the point in your last post, I think I have even agreed on numerous occasions.

You're putting alot of words in my mouth. But yes, it's common practice to ask he boss if they/we can build stuff on our own time and most owners let their guys use the tools and build personal stuff. Here's one that's built after work

Here's a 26 BMX cruiser that Chris Cooney built when at Brodie

A short while later, he then had Toxik do custom paint on it (yes, after work at Brodie) and it now looks like this

Hope that clears things up.[/quote]

Heres the stuff you said they made After work...etc etc etc , and yet every example still has the brand name on it, as previously mentioned a contradiction, demonstrated by your own pictures.

Re: calling on Brodie fans

P.S......... I do so love your suggestion that Paul Brodie just cobbled stuff together....

Also, here we are again, were they supplying there own tube sets whilst using the companies equipment or not...? You mention intellectual property, but not who was paying for the materials used..... it brings us neatly back to my first post to you.
