I have an old raleigh cameo '76 frame. Picked up a mens 3 speed of the same age and took the rear wheel off. The axle length was too short, devastating. My questions are threefold.
1. Can you replace an AW Sturmey axle?
2. Would it be safe to "bend" the rear arms of the frame and put axle spacers in. The axle could be screwed on this way, but I'd rather not kill my wife...
3. Does anyone have a 26 & 1 3/8 wheelset going cheap or for swaps with a shorter axle length.
