Mmm...Vicious Cycles suggest an a to c of 470mm for their rigid fork for frames adjusted for 100mm travel. 470mm is seemingly standard for 29ers. Does it the make sense a 29er fork for a 26er designed for 100mm travel will be fine?

Isn't the A to C of 100mm 26er more like 445mm?

It'd be okay, just a bit slack and look funny.

Where are you looking?

I can't see a 470mm 26" fork on their site.

Edit -

Have just seen their FAQs page. They're obviously confused!

Which model of MTB fork is best for my frame?

•Frames built to accomodate shock forks with 50mm of travel (pre 1997) should use one of our 413 forks.

•Frames built to accomodate shock forks with 63mm of travel, should use one of our
425 forks.

•Frames built to accomodate shock forks with 80mm of travel, should use one of our
438 forks.

•Frames built to accomodate shock forks with 100mm of travel, should use one of our
470 forks.

50 to 63mm - 13mm travel adds 12mm extra length
63 to 80mm = 17mm travel adds 13mm extra length
80 to 100mm = 20mm travel adds 32mm extra length

Doesn't sound right - the third is the only one where the length exceeds the travel and significantly so.
