So born and raised in Edmonton and started my cycling career there. As stated Jim worked with Brad Proctor and the Townsend brothers where he apprenticed as a frame builder. He branched out on his own and opened Hardcore Mountain bike store. It started in an alley off Whyte Ave in Edmonton behind a Sausage house. Jim got into making radical sloping top tube bikes, his ridged forks were also know to have loonies(Canadian one dollar coin) brazed as top caps.

Jim also made road bikes and helped many of us who raced in Western Canada with some of the coolest frames on the Canada Cup circuit. Jim eventually moved the store to Whyte Ave and from there sold the store off to Mark Rumsy. The shop is still opened but Jim no longer makes frames.
