I thought I had a post but can't find it.
Building a bike for a mates son, have accumulated bits off here but the fork I have is so heavy I'm hoping to find better. Budget is tight so not looking for anything fancy, just lighter then the suntour xc30mm coil forks that seem heavier than my car.
Requirements are straight 1 1/8 steerer or tapered, qr and non boost. Air seems a good bet to shave weight.
I've seen a few Chinese forks they could work, but loathed to go down that route as they are probably terrible. Are they? If so, what's out there that won't break the bank?
Project budget is £200 and I'm in for £100!already with what I've bought. I'm throwing in a lot of nice parts for free to give him a decent bike he'll enjoy riding, but the forks negate all the nice slx parts and other finishing kit l am donating to his cause to meet his budget.
