27.2mm Seatpost Into 27.0mm frame

got a 27.2 in my kona, bit of a push but goes in easily enougfh,id clean in the frame a bit so it glides in,0.2 of a mill is feck all really :D

27.2 to 27.0

The other thing you can do is take a 27.2 post and lightly sand with a rotary SCOTCH pad sander on a drill, and take off just enough of the outer surface so that it fits. I just did this with a Thomson setback and it works perfect. But if you do go through the trouble of altering the seat tube (WHICH I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT DOING), remember that it wouldn't be 0.2mm all the way around...this would mean the diameter would decrease by 0.4mm b/c you have 2 opposing side. 0.1mm removal will do it.

but again, i just spent about 30min with a drill, a rotary scotch pad and a beer and fit a 27.2 Thomson into my 27.0 ti frame.

I have a 27.2 seatpost in my Bontrager Privateer that is a nominal 27.0 internal diameter. I did the flappy sander thing down the inside to smooth things out and then sanded down the seatpost at the base to smooth it out and remove the rough anodised finish. It works!

The post goes in tight but not 'gruntingly' so and the minimum insertion mark is nicely below the top of the seat tube.

I reckon the actual internal diameter was about 27.1

Ream it!
2thou wall loss perside won't do feck all really structurally
Many older bike shops will have the tools to do it (maybe not the staff old enough to know how to use it though)
or an adjustible reamer can be had from an engineering supplies for reasonable monies

I would just like to point out that Bontrager components on a steel (or any) Kona is a styling faux pas of the worst kind. Get some Syncros on there man, for goodness sake.
