Just contact via the site. I haven’t ordered myself yet but there are some people in the US and Germany that are riding these tires and from what i can make out the verdict is positive.

Panaracer have the Gravel King SK in 26x2.1 but not sure if they are available yet. Skinwall or black.

Thanks. I need a slightly more aggressive tread. I've always been a 'climber' and whilst the hills around here aren't exactly steep, they are challenging because they're loose gravel/stone. I need some grip

Nobby Nic old style are great, been using them on my old bike for ages over all sort, summer and winter. A sort of does all sorts tyre.

the rocket Ron's of that era are ok , but hit anything with mud or damp and they slide.

The new designs you see currently, I don't know. they look a bit more 'thinner' on the grip.
The old style Nic tread is now called Tough Tom's also quite nice, but as they steel bead, puncture protected and tougher and a lot cheaper. they weigh quite a lot more.

Still great for an everyday tyre (I now use them)

So don't mix up the reviews.

though as you seem to be gravel riding, with a bit of up hill, the thinner/smaller treads will probably work well. did for me.
So the newest style may work really well.
A bit less old Nic, bit a bit more old than old Nic.
Going to try them myself and they come amber wall.
just go 2.25", they are ok and Mavic 231,.717 etc.

That's very useful information. Thanks. I've got Mavic X517 Ceramics. I'm not precious about keeping a Retro Look. Although I might just decide to go with an Amber wall (I'm undecided about that). My Pace gets used and is my only MTB so modern tyres are something I'll be quite happy to use.

Continental is one of the best tyre companies in the world.
Their Chilli tyres are excellent.
Their cheap tyres in H......ds are dreadful.
It's a real issue. They want the volume market, but the grip is TERRIBLE in the base models with the same tread pattern as the expensive ones.

Blackwall? An homage both to Bowie and the amber-walled past....
'....Ground Control to Major Tom....'
Specialised do good tyres. Their 29 folding offer is very good.

We run Nobby Nics in 26 - OKish, wash out too much when aged.
Magic Mary 26 - heavy - massive grip up front - run that on the front and a lightweight on the rear.
Rocket Ron - Ok on the back, terrifying on the front.
Continental Verticals - threw Grom on the ground in a berm and broke his collarbone - part his fault, part the tyre's
Continental Mountain King - unpredictable
Continental Trail King in black chilli - grippy and predictable - watch that rubber disappear each ride - 1 gbp per ride for a 60gbp tyre is not good value

I talk about weight, but as you like smoke/dart them that shouldn't be a problem. when you consider a smoke compe 2.1 was about 700g

and my 2.25 old Nic weighed ~520g iirc.

I keep looking at Smart Sam for country bridleway, gravel, fireroads and Dalby red route sort of riding where rolling is more useful with some deep grip.

Not sure how they would work on the Moors or grass though.
