I have something that could fit the bill. It's a Leprade seatpost although I'm unsure on the model. You might be familiar with the make seeing as you know older French bikes. The length is 245mm (from the bottom of the post to where the saddle rails would be positioned) so doesn't quite make your 250mm requirement, but perhaps it's acceptable. There's no diameter stamping on the post (nor typical Leprade branding sticker) but I've measure it using a digital caliper and it's 26.4mm. Here's some pics, let me know if it's of interest:
