BB serial and dating looks a little off, however. My own 1955 Mercian went in for a refurb at some time in its life (70's by the dating of the 531 sticker and purple paint) but kept its original serial number. This has 2, one of which is from 1980 but the other seems to end in 45JA. So possibly not a Mercian at all..but decent enough value if it is.
