Ah I see... I want to try one as I have found it difficult to get comfortable on my bikes apart from pre war roadster types . A friend introduced me to Retro MTB's with an orange P7 a few months ago and I like it but I still suffer with my knees after a few miles due to th frame geometry. H suggested a ranger owing to the long wheelbase/relaxed angles.
I have one, old post I know but I don't agree with the comments at all (all due respect) they're absolutely beautiful to ride. LWB irons out the bumps, slanted head tube and seat tube angles make it smooth, no judder, you don't even realise you don't have suspension forks. People who buy these are not looking for razor sharp down hill carbon fibre agile super bikes, they want to chill, think 'if Bob Marley owned a bicycle' kind of thing.
Check out new steel 531 and 631 custom expedition frames, precisely the same thing but £1500 for a F&F.
Super light bicycle, it put all of the new pricey bikes to shame in my local bike shop, AND i had a bag on it and it was still lighter.
Took a few pics at the back of the house by the pond. I put on some gold aria rims from 1981, a 52 tooth chainring for more legs, klunker bars and stem, and dia compe long reach levers. NOt sure which bars I prefer, I might go back to the other ones.
