Like a lot of people I got back into cycling when the covid insanity kicked off in early 2020, it was best thing that ever happened to me to be honest. I got furloughed on full pay that spring and summer so I had plenty of time on my hands, I cycled a lot, I found this site and got back into the bikes I rode and wanted as a kid.
When I was eventually made redundant it forced me to seek out an entirely new career as the catering industry at that time was completely dead, fortunately that worked out, my new job has much better hours, pays more and is located at an ideal bike commuting distance, about 4.5 miles from home, so I've been riding at least 5 days a week for nearly 2.5 years now, plus I regularly ride on my days off, I never felt better. To all of those who want to ride more then if you can commute do it, and be disciplined about it, rain or shine, don't be tempted by the car, it starts off hard but gets easier, after a few weeks you'll feel the difference.
This year I want to spend more time riding and tinkering.
My plans for 2023...
Finish converting the garage into a workshop.
Finish pending projects before I start anymore.
Sort through all my stuff and have a massive clear out, sell and karma whatever I don't need.
Go on a few bike tours around Britain, these are already planned.
