2015-02-22 Baltic Bawbags Aftermath

Hi Lads
Thanks for a great day out. Excellent riding and great company, as usual.
I am in the door a little while ago, around 11pm and have done 453 miles, though I was at Brians for about 45 minutes as I needed a coffee and one for the road as well.
I really enjoyed today, the snow and cold made it a bit different than usual, but in a good way.
We went back to the carpark on our way out of Dunkeld and found Brians glasses, they were frozen in the snow where I had reversed over them :( Brian tinkered with them in the car on the way back and fixed them, sort of, a bit squint, but they worked.
Will get some pics up once they load to photobucket, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.

I took a couple and here are most likely the best of them.

Great day out, well worth the effort - rule#5 ticked off too!

Snow was amazing and made for yet another different bb experience, it is never the same twice. Really good to see old and new faces, been far too long for me. I nearly bailed after the first climb - gagging on the new amounts of phlegm my mouth could produce but a few hundred yards further and my body remembered what it was supposed to do. I led from the back most of the time, got attacked by a rabid robin, saw a large arse (litterally), and crashed out on the easiest slope 200m from the carpark. But I made it to the end though some of the prettiest views (not the arse) the snow could bring.

Great company and nice food afterwards. (The Taybank don't seem to do lunches anymore on a Sunday - the Perth Arms on the square kept us fat though.)

  was a good burger and a fine stovie sellection

I prefer the Perth Arms - could actually hear folk speaking.

And the Haggis burgers (sorry, Highland Burgers) were just right to fill a substantial hole. :)

Re:

Looked amazing guys but also bloody freezing which is not my cup of tea anymore. I did get out and do three hours blatting around the woods and on a fully rigid canti braked retro but that was bad enough in freezing wind blown sleet and rain. I think it unlikely, no matter what year I'll ever do Baltic Bawbags again as I cant hack the cold and distance from home. But great to see the pics of those that do, great effort !

There were a few of the regulars that were missed, yourself amongst them Velo.
You got a ride in and that's all that matters really, I certainly understand how the travel can put you off.
